Toffees duo to leave

Everton have confirmed the release of out-of-contract pair Alessandro Pistone and Richard Wright.

Pistone, 31, has been out of the first-team since suffering a serious knee injury at the beginning of the 2005/06 season against Bolton - shortly after signing a two-year extension with the Toffees.

Goalkeeper Wright, 29, who has made 71 appearances in five seasons, was forced to play second fiddle to Nigel Martyn and then Tim Howard during his time at Goodison Park.
