Ten-man Manchester City held on to claim a dramatic 4-3 win over Norwich at Carrow Road on Saturday.

The Citizens looked to be in control of proceedings as the roared into a two goal lead inside the first five minutes of the game thanks to a brace from Edin Dzeko, only for Anthony Pilkington to put his side back in the game from a free-kick after 15 minutes.

The game entered a lull before exploding into life once more just before half-time after Samir Nasri was given a red card after a coming together with Norwich defender Sebastien Bassong.

The Frenchman's rush of blood allowed Norwich back into the game, and it wasn't long before they made the most of their numerical advantage, although not before Sergio Aguero restored his side's two goal advantage with a sublime chip over Mark Bunn in the Norwich goal.

Russel Martin made it 3-2 with 63 minutes on the clock to put the home side back in with a chance of snatching a point, but Dzeko completed his hat-trick to make it 4-2 - although the goal may be awarded as an own goal against Bunn after it hit the post and rebounded in off the Norwich shotstopper.

Martin once more made it a one-goal game with his strike with 15 minutes remaining, but there was no more the Canaries could do as City held on for the win.

Roberto Mancini cut a relived figure after the win, which keeps the Citizens within seven points of the top of the table following Manchester United's 2-0 victory against West Brom. Fellow title hopefuls Chelsea take on Everton tomorrow.
