Billy Sharp's injury-time strike ensured Alex McLeish's first game in charge of Nottingham Forest did not end in defeat as they salvaged a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace at the City Ground.

McLeish, installed as Sean O'Driscoll's successor on Thursday, saw his side go behind twice to strikes from Glenn Murray, but goals from Andy Reid and Sharp earned them a point.

Meanwhile, managerless Blackburn picked up a morale-boosting success as they won 3-1 at Barnsley. Rovers parted company with Henning Berg in midweek but goals from Joshua King, Ruben Rochina and Jordan Rhodes sealed the victory, although Stephen Dawson pulled one back for the hosts.
