Spain's leading sports newspaper, Marca, has today released an online poll for football fans to vote for their favourite La Liga goal of the year.
With so many sensational strikes during 2012, a panel of reporters had the unenviable task of narrowing the field down to 12 nominations.
The final shortlist ranges from stunning solo strikes to set pieces, intricate team goals and impressive individual skills - there really is plenty to get your teeth into and open debate.
It's unsurprising to see Messrs Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo dominate the shortlist, so prolific have each of them been over the past year, so they have been rewarded with three entries apiece.
In-demand Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao also makes the cut, as does Ronaldo's Real Madrid team-mate Karim Benzema, and Messi's fellow Barcelona star, Adriano.
There are a couple of other familiar faces with former Tottenham striker Helder Postiga - now of Real Zaragoza - featuring, as well as Arsenal loanee Joel Campbell, who continues to impress for Real Betis.
And finally, Rayo Vallecano midfielder Piti completes the list of candidates with an impressive free-kick against Levante earlier this month.
After another sensational 12 months in Spain's Primera Division, GiveMeFootball invites you to enjoy each of the contenders for goal of 2012, and leave a comment with your favourite strike below...
