Andre Villas-Boas has spoken of Tottenham's interest in Brazilian pair Willian and Leandro Damiao, and says he is open to making a move for both in the near future.
The Shakhtar Donetsk forward has impressed in the Champions League this season and helped knock Chelsea, who are also interested in securing his services, out at the group stages.
Damiao meanwhile has been a long-term target for Tottenham as they continue their search for more firepower in attack.
Speaking in a wide-ranging interview with Brazilian website Lancenet, Villas-Boas revealed his attempts to land Willian in the summer, and says he would be open to trying to sneijder him in the future.
"We got in touch with Willian and he is one of the players that interests us," he said. I like his style but we could not reach the value Shakhtar were asking. It does not mean we won’t try again, Shakhtar are a difficult club to negotiate with as they do not need the money and can keep their players.”
Villas-Boas, who has guided Tottenham in to the top four in the Premier League going into the new year, also revealed that Damiao remains on the north London club's radar.
“Leandro had a spectacular Olympics," he said. We follow the best players and the youngsters, Damiao fits this profile. He has had injuries after London 2012 but he is a player that is always on our list.”
