Arsenal and Chelsea have reportedly rejected the opportunity to sign Wesley Sneijder during the January transfer window, while the Inter Milan playmaker continues to be linked with Liverpool and Tottenham.
Sneijder seems destined to leave Inter before the end of the month and, according to The Sun, both Arsenal and Chelsea have been offered the Netherlands international.
Inter have reportedly made it clear to Arsenal and Chelsea that they are prepared to allow Sneijder to leave the San Siro for nothing with the hope of removing the 28-year-old from their wage bill.
However, Sneijder's astronomical demands of £200,000-a-week have proved an issue for Arsenal and Chelsea, and now a prospective move to either the Emirates Stadium or Stamford Bridge appears to be out of the question.
Liverpool and Tottenham have also been credited with interest in Sneijder as both Brendan Rodgers and Andre Villas-Boas scour the market for reinforcements during the transfer window.
