Cristiano Ronaldo will show off his latest pair of Nike boots when he returns to action with Real Madrid this weekend, and the Portugal captain's footwear will celebrate his remarkable 2012.
Although Ronaldo's achievements last year will always be overshadowed by the record breaking goalscoring feats of Lionel Messi, the Real Madrid reached a number of milestones of his own.
Ronaldo's brand new Nike CR Mercurial IX boots will pay homage to these feats - with the numbers one, nine, 14, 19, 27, 55 and 60 emblazoned across them to represent his most significant points of 2012.
One marks victory in the race for the Spanish title, while he became the first player ever to score against 19 different La Liga sides, and scored 60 times in 55 appearances over the course of the campaign.
In 2012, Ronaldo scored nine times for Portugal in 14 appearances - all of which he achieved by the age of 27.
"Last season was a very special one for me, helping my team and country achieve success," Ronaldo said, as reported by the Daily Mail.
"It’s great to celebrate these achievements and also have a great pair of Mercurial boots to recognize the moment.
"I’ll enjoy playing in them for sure."
