Paris Saint-Germain are ready to ruin Manchester United's hopes of a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer transfer window with the mega-rich French club preparing a bid, reports The Mirror.

Ronaldo has been linked with a transfer back to Manchester United at the end of the season, with a wrangle between the Portuguese star and Real Madrid over a new contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 27-year-old scored 118 goals in 292 appearances during six seasons with Manchester United, before leaving the club for Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 for a record breaking £80 million.

Sir Alex Ferguson has stated that he would love to have Ronaldo back at Old Trafford, but the Manchester United boss will seemingly have to battle with PSG in his pursuit of the Real Madrid superstar.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has spoken responded to reports linking the club with Ronaldo, and possible Ferguson replacement Jose Mourinho, and The Mirror claims he has hinted a double move for the pair.

"I respect Real Madrid and their president," said Al-Khelaifi in an interview with Le Parisien.

"So if I want to have Ronaldo come to Paris, I will first call Real before engaging in any commentaries.

"I believe he [Mourinho] has clarified his position. He has said that he won’t leave Real until they have won the Champions League."
