Derby manager Nigel Clough singled out Mason Bennett's record-breaking strike as the magic moment in his team's 5-0 demolition of Tranmere in the FA Cup third-round tie at Pride Park.

Bennett became the club's youngest ever scorer at 16 years and 174 days, beating the previous record set by Lee Holmes in 2003, when he smashed in the fifth three minutes from the end.

"That was the highlight of the day for me," Clough said. "He could have scored one when he made his debut at Middlesbrough and hit the bar so it was lovely for him to get one today."
