Chelsea are close to sealing a deal for Brazilian Metalist Kharkiv forward Taison, according to Sky Sports.

Taison has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for some time, and now Sky Sports claim that a deal is close to being completed after a fee and personal terms were agreed.

However while Taison’s Chelsea switch is close to being completed the deal has not been finalised yet, and another Premier League club is said to be hoping to hijack the move at the last minute.

According to Sky Sports the unnamed Premier League club have submitted an offer for the versatile Brazilian forward, although Chelsea still remain favourites to land their man.

Taison made the move to Ukraine two-and-a-half years ago from Internacional, from whom Chelsea snapped up Oscar over the summer.

If Chelsea do manage to seal the deal in the coming days, it would represent their second signing of the January transfer window.

Demba Ba arrived from Newcastle in time to score a brace in Chelsea’s 5-1 FA Cup win over Southampton on Saturday.
