Inter Milan have begun negotiations with Edin Dzeko's agent over a January switch to Serie 'A', according to talkSPORT.
Quoting reports in Italy, the talkSPORT piece claims Inter Milan are keen to bring the Bosnian international to the San Siro as a replacement for Diego Milito.
The 26-year-old forward joined the Premier League champions from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in 2011 in a deal worth £27m, but Dzeko has found first-team opportunities limited by Roberto Mancini's rotation policy.
Of his 18 Premier League appearances this term, 11 have come off the bench. But despite this, Dzeko continues to lead the club's goalscoring charts, with nine Premier League goals this season.
Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero have been preferred more often than not by Mancini, although Dzeko has started City's last two matches.
Still, Inter Milan are thought to be exploring the possibility of bringing the Bosnian to the San Siro, as they look to strengthen their attack for a tilt at the Serie 'A' title.
The report claims Inter have held preliminary talks with Dzeko's representatives, and a switch could be on the cards for later this month.
The Premier League champions have struggled this season compared to last, and sit seven points behind the pace-setters Manchester United.
