Drogba agent confirms contact with Juventus

Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has received contract from Juventus about a proposed move to Turin, the agent of the Ivory Coast international has confirmed.

Drogba has finished his first season with Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, which has led to speculation that he could move to Europe on an 18-month deal during the January transfer window.

The 34-year-old has been training with Chelsea in order to maintain his fitness in the lead up to the Africa Cup of Nations, and Juventus have seemingly moved to check on Drogba's potential availability.

But Drogba, who has also been linked with AC Milan, is content with focusing on helping his country to glory in the AFCON following last year's disappointment, rather than thinking about joining Juventus.

"It is true that there has been contact with Juventus. Nothing's concrete at this point, though," agent Thierno Seydi was quoted as saying by Tuttosport.

"Juventus, AC Milan, Celtic are all interesting teams, but Didier is still a Shanghai Shenhua player. He's a great player and he is only thinking about the AFCON at the moment."

Drogba left Chelsea for Shanghai Shenhua at the end of last season, having allowed his contract at Stamford Bridge to expire.

The forward scored 157 goals in 341 appearances for Chelsea during eight years with the club, with his last act as a Blue being scoring the decisive penalty in May's Champions League final victory.
