Luka Modric unsettled at Real Madrid
Former Tottenham Hotspur starlet wants Premier League return
After a dazzling few seasons with Tottenham Hotspur, Luka Modric's move to Real Madrid came as no surprise to fans who had witnessed his performances first-hand.
The midfielder's technical ability and skill on the ball was second-to-none, and the Croatian international earned his £30million pound move to Real Madrid at the start of the season.
However, it appears the Croatian international has found it hard to settle in the Spanish capital, making just eight league starts so far this season and being voted worst La Liga signing of the season.
With the likes of Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil all fighting for a place in a Madrid side that has been the subject to plenty of chops and changes by Jose Mourinho in the past month, it is no wonder Modric has found it hard to find his old form and cement a firm grip on first-team action this season.
With Modric seemingly unsettled, it has been reported that some English clubs may be interested in taking the former Spurs ace back to the Premier League. Manchester City have been heavily linked with the 27-year-old midfielder, as Roberto Mancini contemplates adding further creative flair to his ranks. With Yaya Toure leaving for the African Cup of Nations this month, the arrival of Modric would be a timely boost to City's title challenge.
It is not clear what sort of price tag may be placed on Modric's head, but it is likely to be a sizeable sum. Chelsea have also been rumoured to hold a strong interest in the Croatian playmaker, but they are yet to renew their interest from the summer with a concrete bid.
One thing is for sure, if Modric is serious about returning to the Premier League, there will be no shortage of takers, with the diminutive midfielder well thought of on English shores after his scintillating form during his spell with Spurs.
