Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has flown to London to finalise a deal to sell striker Alvaro Negredo, but the identity of the club he is joining is unknown.
A report in the Southern Daily Echo claims Spanish media are saying the famously outspoken Del Nido jetted into London on Thursday morning and that a deal will be struck very soon.
While the buying club is unknown, all of Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old.
The report claims Spurs even made a formal bid for Negredo a year ago, but were knocked back by the Primera Liga club.
It states that a price of €18million is being asked but that it is a negotiable figure – a relatively reasonable price for a player that has scored 46 goals in only 76 La Liga games.
Arsenal are in need of striking reinforcements as Olivier Giroud is the only orthodox centre-forward they have at Emirates Stadium, despite Theo Walcott and Gervinho both trying out the role.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas may be keen to acquire another striker as Emmanuel Adebayor is set to depart for the Africa Cup of Nations at the weekend and Jermain Defoe is only other senior striker at the club.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have already added Demba Ba to their forward ranks following the sale of Daniel Sturridge to Liverpool and would likely be the least favourite to sign him.
