[Video] Dutch team tackle crime in Thai prison
PSV Eindhoven take a trip to a Thai prison
Football and law (or the wrong side of it) have often found themselves regularly entwined in the past – so it should come as no surprise that PSV Eindhoven have taken it one step further by playing a friendly in prison.
Just two days ago PSV picked up a well-earned 2-0 win over Thai champions Muanthong United on their tour of the country.
Usually clubs on tour may use the time after the game to take in some of the local sights, maybe rest up, or at worst partake in some light training - all the while surrounded by five-star luxury. Well, it hasn’t quite worked out that way for PSV this time.
Manager Dick Advocaat took his men on a visit to Klong Prem prison in Bangkok before they lined up in a friendly (of sorts) against a prison XI - with the likes of Manchester United target Kevin Strootman and Bayern Munich midfielder Mark van Bommel taking part.
Playing a series of ten minute games against inmates, PSV took on a handful of Kong Prem’s 6,000 inmates. You would like to think they won most of those games.
