Whilst the UAE’s 1-0 win over Kuwait in the Gulf Cup semi-final is of little consequence to most people, last night’s clash had a particularly unusual moment to remember.

It came in the 70th minute, when Khamis Ismaeel unleashed a rocket of a free-kick from fully 30-yards which cannoned off the crossbar.

But, instead of bouncing back into the penalty area, the ball crashed into the head of goalkeeper Nawaf Al Khaldy and then back onto the bar – meaning the player’s one free-kick hit the goal-frame twice.

It bounced off the stopper’s noggin one more time before being put out of play for a corner by his defence.

Whilst it’s difficult to see the incident at first look, the replay shows just how close Ismaeel came to scoring on both occasions.

Luckily for the UAE, it didn’t stop them from going on to win the match either, with Ahmad Khalil scoring a last-gasp winner. They now meet Bahrain in the final on Friday night.

Check out the brilliant free-kick below, and let us know if you’ve seen a player hit the frame of the goal twice in one incident…
