Manchester United were this week linked with Pescara’s Colombian midfielder Juan Quintero and the 19-year-old last night showed why they are in for him.

Also an Inter Milan target, Quintero is representing Colombia at the South American Under-20 Championships.

Already qualified, Colombia lined up against Argentina in their final Group A match, which was a dead rubber due to La Albiceleste already having crashed out.

Quintero is known mainly as technically gifted attacking midfielder, but he exhibited his dead ball proficiency to score his side’s second goal in their 3-2 loss.

Fully 35 yards out, the former Envigado star runs up for what looks an ambitious attempt and crashes a thunderbolt of a shot flying past goalkeeper Andres Nehring into the top corner.

Columbia now progress to the second stage of the tournament in Argentina and will be hopeful of success after finishing ahead of the hosts.

It may have done nothing to change the result, but it was a goal worthy to be watched time and time again.
