Chelsea v Arsenal: Predicted line-ups
GMF predicts the line-ups for Chelsea’s Premier League meeting with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea host Arsenal on Sunday in a game neither side can really afford to lose, though both have struggled for their best form in recent weeks.
Stamford Bridge has not been a happy place for Rafael Benitez since he took over as interim manager and the Blues have not won their last three games there, with the draw against Southampton in midweek, where a 2-0 lead was squandered, sparking loud boos.
John Terry has only played 30 minutes of football since returning from injury and Benitez admitted it would be a gamble to start him in the clash with Arsene Wenger’s side, but said he may just do that.
Meanwhile the Gunners will be buoyed by the news that forward Theo Walcott has signed a new deal with the club and the spectre of losing him at the end of the season was withdrawn.
He is expected to keep his place in the team that will likely be altered slightly from that which defeated Swansea City 1-0 in the FA Cup on Monday, especially as defender Laurent Koscielny has served his one-game suspension following his sending off in the loss Manchester City last weekend..
That game also saw impressive performances from Francis Coquelin and Abou Diaby, though Wenger may be reluctant to use the latter so soon again to avoid another injury, though the 26-year-old was withdrawn after an hour.
GiveMeFootball has predicted the line-ups below:
Cech; Ashley Cole, Azpilicueta, Terry, Ivanovic; Lampard, Luiz, Hazard, Oscar, Mata; Torres.
Szczesny; Gibbs, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen; Diaby, Wilshere, Cazorla; Podolski, Walcott, Giroud.
