Liverpool prepare £5m bid for Pepe Reina replacement

Liverpool have heightened speculation over the future of Pepe Reina by lining up a £5million move for Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, reports talkSPORT.

The 27-year-old Ajaccio stopper - who has been capped 32 times for his country - could be on his way to the Premier League this summer, after impressing in Ligue 1 over the past 18 months.

Ochoa missed just one league match in 2011/12, as Ajaccio avoided relegation from France's top-flight, and has been an ever-present for the club this season.

His fine form is believed to have attracted the attention of Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, who is keen to bring Ochoa to Anfield at the end of the season, as a potential successor to long-term custodian, Reina.

Barcelona have made the Spanish stopper one of their main summer transfer targets and Liverpool are preparing for life without the 30-year-old by firming up their interest in Ochoa.

The talented goalkeeper started out at Club America, and moved to Ajaccio in the summer of 2011, signing a three-year deal with the French club, with an option of a further year.
