West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame will come up against potential suitors Arsenal on Wednesday night and, according to The Mirror, the Senegal international will have 90 minutes to earn himself a transfer to the Emirates Stadium.

Diame is a reported January target for Arsenal, while Arsene Wenger this week revealed his admiration for the Hammers star, and the encounter with the Gunners will provide the 25-year-old the ideal audition to show off his credentials.

"He has a great presence in the games. I've seen him in games where he's had a big impact, for example against Chelsea where he had a big impact where he came on," the Arsenal manager told his weekly press conference.

"They have many players who can be dangerous, but he can drive the midfield."

Arsenal are reported to have made enquiries about Diame, who has a buyout clause of just £3.5 million written into his West Ham contract, although no formal bid has been made.

Diame, meanwhile, reportedly fears West Ham are attempting to block a dream transfer to Arsenal and is ready to take legal advice if required.

West Ham have offered Diame an improved contract to prevent his release clause being met by Arsenal or any other interested parties, but there is nothing the Hammers can do should the fee be met before a new deal is agreed.
