David Beckham has moved back to London as he looks for his next club, but the son of the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star could yet join a club before his illustrious father.

According to the Daily Mail, 14-year-old Brooklyn Beckham could follow in the footsteps of David Beckham by becoming a professional after it was revealed the youngster is on trial with Chelsea.

Beckham Snr was spotted at Chelsea's Cobham training ground on Tuesday, sparking speculation that the 37-year-old could move to Stamford Bridge, but the ex-England captain was in attendance to watch Brooklyn in an academy game for the Blues.

The presence of the Manchester United legend created a mini Twitter frenzy, with parents watching their children in Chelsea training shocked to see Beckham doing the same in the wintery conditions at the Surrey base.

"Brooklyn is like any teenager with an ambition to be a footballer. He has just returned to England and wanted to see how he fared," an insider is reported to have told the Daily Mail

"Chelsea are one of the strongest academies in the country. The difference is that he is the son of the former England captain and this will draw attention."

Brooklyn's trial with Chelsea comes on the 20th anniversary of David signing his first professional deal with Manchester United along with the likes of Gary Neville and Paul Scholes.

Two decades later and Beckham is chasing one final contract before retirement, and has been linked with a free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain after leaving LA Galaxy late last year.
