Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking for a repeat of his side’s early season victory over West Ham United in the Premier League tonight, and should name a strong side for the re-arranged fixture.
Polish international stopper Wojciech Szczesny will start between the sticks, and the back four is likely to remain the same following Sunday’s tough loss to Chelsea.
Bacary Sagna, Thomas Vermaelen, Per Mertesacker and Kieran Gibbs all did a decent job in the second-half at Stamford Bridge, meaning French centre back Laurent Koscielny will be on the bench again. Carl Jenkinson is also pushing for a start.
Francis Coquelin is likely to join the duo amongst the Arsenal substitutes, with Abou Diaby, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla forming the midfield three against the Hammers. Aaron Ramsey is the other main option in the absence of Mikel Arteta.
In attack, Olivier Giroud is likely to provide the threat through the middle for the Gunners, with Theo Walcott on one flank and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain the other in the absence of Gervinho, who is at the African Cup of Nations.
Arsenal predicted line-up v West Ham United:
Wojciech Szczesny; Bacary Sagna, Thomas Vermaelen, Per Mertesacker, Kieran Gibbs; Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby, Santi Cazorla; Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
