Arsenal and Liverpool could have a chance to land target Isaac Cuenca in the January transfer window as Barcelona are willing to let him leave on loan.
According to Marca, the Catalan club want the 21-year-old to gain some first team football after he just came back from a long-term knee injury and both the Gunners and Merseysiders have been credited with an interest in him.
Spanish press reported Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was ready to pounce for him last summer before he picked up the injury.
Cuenca is highly-rated at Barcelona but they have myriad of forwards and attacking midfielders ahead of him at Camp Nou, such as Lionel Messi, Alexis Sanchez, Pedro, David Villa and Cristian Tello.
However, Barcelona are not ready to let him leave permanently but Arsenal could well be willing to take him on to boost his attacking options at Emirates Stadium for a season that is threatening to derail.
Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has limited resources in wide attacking areas, with young Raheem Sterling and the unconvincing Stewart Downing the current inhabitants of the flanks.
