Video: Ivory Coast stars make fun of Gervinho

Published 2 Comments

Arsenal star Gervinho is often seen as a comical figure by Premier League fans, his propensity for getting himself in to a tangle can be both humorous and dismaying, but it appears he is also the butt of his Ivory Coast teammates’ jokes.

The 25-year-old is in South Africa for the Africa Cup of nations and was interviewed by the team kit sponsor Puma with Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, Manchester City’s Yaya Toure and Kolo Toure as well as former Stamford Bridge winger Salomon Kalou.

The quintet were questioned on various things to do with the Elephants squad, but their responses indicated the Gunners wide man was something of a target for jests.

While former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue was labelled ‘funniest’, ‘best dancer’, ‘most energetic‘ and ‘most talented outside of football’, Gervinho was given ‘worst haircut’, ‘worst dancer’ and ‘ugliest’.

The former Lille forward may not be held in high regard as to his sense of style by Drogba et al but he has been priceless on the pitch, scoring and assisting both Ivory Coast goals in their victory over Togo.

Watch the hilarious interview below and feel Gervinho’s pain…
