Manchester City set £20m fee for Balotelli as AC Milan talks progress
Manchester City Transfer News: Citizens want £20 million up-front for Mario Balotelli
Manchester City are willing to let troubled striker Mario Balotelli leave for £20 million this month - £4 million less than they paid for him two-and-a-half years ago.
Balotellli has never been far from the headlines since joining the Citizens in 2010, and has found himself struggling for first team action this term amid criticism from boss Roberto Mancini over the level of his performances.
Earlier this month, pictures of a bust-up between the Italian pair at Manchester City’s training ground emerged, although Mancini was keen ot play down the significance of the incident.
According to Goal.com, Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola is currently in Milan to discuss a potential switch, with Manchester City willing to cut their losses and sell the controversial Italian striker for less than they paid for him in 2010.
The website claims City rejected an offer of £25 million spread over six years, but are willing to do business for £5 million less if most of the fee is paid up front.
All indications seem to point to the fact that Balotelli is preparing to leave Manchester – his house was put up for rent earlier this week while reports today suggest he held a farewell meal with his close friends last weekend.
