Arsenal are set to tempt Fiorentina with a £20million bid for exciting young attacker Stevan Jovetic.

According to the Daily Express, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has been planning a big money move for a striker and the Montenegro forward has been linked with a move to Emirates Stadium in the past.

It also claims reports of Arsenal readying a bid in the region of £20million for the Serie A star as Wenger looks for attacker to help replace the goals that left with Robin van Persie in the summer.

The Gunners have also been linked with a bid for Barcelona striker David Villa but he is 31 years old to Jovetic’s 23 years old and Arsenal’s transfer strategy would suggest the younger talent is a more likely target.

Jovetic has been in fine form in Italy this season, scoring eight goals in a Viola side that have been impressing under new manager Vincenzo Montella.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been struggling for consistency in the Premier League, which was highlighted by their 5-2 mauling of West Ham United on Wednesday evening just days after losing 2-1 to Chelsea in a game where they failed to click.
