Arsenal forward, Lukas Podolski, has challenged Arsenal to push on after their 5-1 drubbing of West Ham United, as they look to force their way back into the top four.

The German international scored Arsenal's first on Wednesday evening, before going on to claim three assists as Arsenal cruised past their London rivals.

Arsene Wenger's side are currently in sixth spot in the Premier League, but are only four points behind arch rivals Tottenham, who occupy the much-coveted final Champions League place. And Podolski wants Arsenal to kick on after their latest convincing win against Sam Allardyce's side.

Speaking to SkySports, Podolski said: "There is enough time to get back in the top four, and a lot of points to play for.

"We must believe in our game and our players. After the two defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea, the atmosphere was not so good, but now we have won 5-1 and we look forward to the next game."

Lukas Podolski has predominantly been used at left-wing since arriving at the Emirates, with manager Arsene Wenger even stating his belief that wide left is the 27-year-old's strongest position. But the German international is just happy to be playing, and will give his all for the side, irrespective of his position.

"When you are a footballer, you will not always play 90 minutes. Sometimes you are not happy, but this is not important for me," he added.

"I fight for Arsenal, for the club and team and this for me is important.

"We have a lot of great players. The coaches don't change the full-back or centre-back - you change always the positions in the front who create something.

"You have great players and it is not a problem when I am substituted."

As well as opening the scoring on Wednesday evening, Podolski also impressed with his all-round game, laying on three goals for his teammates as Arsenal ran riot, scoring four second-half goals to claim a 5-1 victory. And Podolski is keen to stress that there is more to his game than just scoring goals.

"It's not only important to score goals," Podolski told Arsenal Player

"When you play on the left side, it's always important to see your colleagues on the pitch. It was good but in the end, the three points [are most important].

"I had a little bit of space and had the ball on my left foot. You must be a little bit lucky but the goal was great, yeah!

Summing up the game, Podolski added: "I think we played very well.

"After the 1-0 for West Ham, we showed our character and I think the second half was great. It was a fantastic start with four goals in 10 minutes.

"What's important is that we have the three points and I think we are a little [bit] back [to our best]."
