Manchester United v Fulham

Old Trafford; FA Cup fourth round; Saturday, January 26; KO 1730

Sir Alex Ferguson will face former charge Dimitar Berbatov in the evening kick-off at Old Trafford and has very few injury worries ahead of it.

Winger Ashley Young is still nursing a knee injury and is not expected back available until next month, while centre-back Jonny Evans’ hamstring problems persist and he will miss out.

Wayne Rooney will be hoping for a return to the starting line-up after being named as a substitute in United’s draw at Tottenham on Sunday.

Former Red Devil Kieran Richardson will not be able to line up against his old team after picking up a calf injury last week.

Fulham boss Martin Jol will also have to do without winger Karim Frei due to a pelvis injury and holding midfielder Mahamadou Diarra has not recovered from a knee injury.

Rooney gives United injury scare

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney gave manager Sir Alex Ferguson an injury scare in midweek when he hobbled out of training.

Ferguson had the whole Old Trafford squad fly out to Qatar during the week for some warm weather training to avoid the wintry conditions in the UK ahead of their FA Cup fourth round clash with Fulham.

Rooney gave United management and fans cause for concern on the Wednesday when he limped out of training clutching his left leg.

It left many sweating as Rooney had only just returned from another injury a week earlier, but it turned out to be nothing more than a scare.

The England star returned to training the next day and is expected to take part in the Cup tie on Saturday evening.

Rooney will be hoping to make it into the starting XI this time after missing out for the 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday.
