Premier League big-guns avoid tricky 5th round ties

Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea all avoided Premier League opposition in the draw for the 5th round of the FA Cup.

Premier League champions Manchester City secured their place in the draw made this evening with a narrow 1-0 win over Stoke in the 4th round, and will face a Leeds side who have made a habit of chopping down top tier opposition in recent years.

Neil Warnock's side beat Tottenham 2-1 at Elland Road on Sunday and will go in the game against Roberto Mancini's side full of confidence that they can repeat the trick.

ichael AppletonArsenal, conquerers of Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, will take on M s Blackburn at the Emirates Stadium, while Chelsea, who have Fernando Torres to thank for ensuring a 2-2 draw against League One outfit Brentford on Sunday, will take on Middlesbrough if they come through the replay at Stamford Bridge unscathed.

Manchester United will be confident of progressing to the next stage of the competition when they face Premier League strugglers Reading, while Oldham were rewarded for their giant-killing act in beating Liverpool 3-2 with a tie against their Merseyside rivals Everton.

The final Premier League team still involved in the FA Cup, Wigan, will go up against the winner of the replay between Huddersfield and Leicester.

The final two ties of the round see MK Dons take on Barnsley, and Luton go up against Milwall.

The 5th round ties will take place on the weekend of February 16/17.
