Fulham swoop for Arsenal starlet
Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong joins Fulham on loan for remainder of the season
Arsenal have today confirmed that Emmanuel Frimpong has joined Premier League side Fulham until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old has just returned from a loan spell in the Championship with Charlton Athletic, where he played six games for the Addicks.
Frimpong has battled back from a seven month injury lay-off and has only featured twice for Arsenal's first-team this year, with both appearances coming in the Capital One Cup victories over Reading and Coventry City respectively.
The Ghanaian midfielder joined Arsenal when he was only 11-years-old, playing a key role in the FA Youth Cup success back in 2009. Having made just 16 first-team appearances for the Gunners, Frimpong will continue his development with Martin Jol's side as he seeks further experience and regular playing time.
A statement on Fulham's official website read: "The Club is delighted to confirm the loan signing of Emmanuel Frimpong from Arsenal until the end of the season.
"The central midfielder came through the academy at Arsenal, and has spent time on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Charlton Athletic.
"The 21-year-old has been capped at various youth levels for England, however he is also eligible to represent Ghana.
"All at Fulham wish Frimpong the best during his time at the Club."
