Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, a reported transfer target for Manchester United and Tottenham, has revealed he rejected the opportunity to leave the Bundesliga champions.
According to ESPN, both Manchester United and Tottenham are believed to be interested in Gundogan, who continues to turn in a number of eye-catching displays for Borussia Dortmund.
Sir Alex Ferguson and Andre Villas-Boas are likely to have been impressed by Gundogan's performance in Dortmund's 3-0 win over Nurnberg last week, but they won't be the only managers keeping tabs on the youngster.
The 22-year-old's form of late has led to interest to being formalised by one club, although it is unlikely to have come from Manchester United or Tottenham, with Gundogan not entertaining the idea of joining the unnamed side.
"I know there was an offer for me," Gundogan told Kicker. "But who put in the offer was of no big interest to me."
A possible move to Manchester United or Tottenham could be on the cards in the future, however, with the Germany international hinting he may leave Borussia Dortmund when his contract expires.
"2015 is not the day after tomorrow. There is no need to start talking now,” he added when asked about his deal with Dortmund. "But this does not mean I could not imagine staying at Dortmund after 2015."
