Arsenal left-back Andre Santos has admitted his disastrous form and asked Gunners fans to be patient with him.

The Brazilian has been the brunt if vociferous criticism at Emirates Stadium following a number of hapless displays.

An injury to Kieran Gibbs after half an hour of the 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Wednesday night saw Santos introduced to groans.

There have also since been reports that manager Arsene Wenger has lost faith in the 29-year-old to fill in for Gibbs and will dip into the transfer market for another defender.

Santos took to Twitter to thank the few fans that were still giving him their support and promised he would eventually turn his form around.

“Thank you very much to the fans that support me, slowly I'll reach my ideal form!” he Tweeted.

Santos was part of a nervous looking Arsenal back line against Liverpool and some comical defending saw the Anfield club take a two-goal lead.

The Gunners stormed back to level through Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott but could not find a winner.

Gibbs’ thigh strain is set to keep him out for three weeks and so Santos will have to find his form fast as he is the only other senior left-back Arsenal have.
