Mexican forward completes Manchester United trial
Manchester United transfer news: Jurgen Damm completes trial
Jurgen Damm is set to return to duty with Estudiantes Tecos next week after completing his trial period with Manchester United, the Mexican club have confirmed.
The Mexican youngster, who also holds a German citizenship, had been with Manchester United for a week and the Premier League leaders took the chance to assess his credentials at close quarters.
Manchester United have found the Americas a fertile ground of late, with the acquisition of Javier Hernadez from Guadalajara proving a significant coup, while Chilean teenager Angelo Henriquez joined the club from Universidad de Chile.
Damm, however, will not be following in the footsteps of Hernandez and Henriquez just yet after Manchester United passed up the opportunity to sign him during the January transfer window.
The youngster must now return to duty with Estudiantes Tecos, before perhaps finding out if a dream move to Manchester United can become a reality at the end of the season.
"Estudiantes Tecos confirms that, thanks to the Pachuca Group [which owns Tecos] along with other clubs, our player, Jurgen Damm, was invited to be observed directly by Manchester United of the Premier League," read a statement from Tecos, as reported by Goal.com.
"The forward traveled to England on January 20 to begin a period of observation under the club's coaching staff, as they have two ways to integrate new players into the club and one of those is direct examination by staff in their own facilities.
"Damm will return to our city next weekend and will be back in the Estudiantes Tecos side on Monday, February 4 to continue his participation in the 2013 Clausura."
