Video: Deputy chairman kicks player in French league match

Published Add your comment

There were alarming scenes in Ligue 2 over the weekend as the deputy chairman of Gazélec Ajaccio became involved in an on-field bust-up with a member of the opposition after the encounter with Lens.

Gazélec Ajaccio had lost the meeting in Lens 2-0 on Friday night, but where left to rue some decisions from the officials and allowed their collective frustration to boil over after the match had ended.

With players from each team jostling on the pitch following the full-time whistle, Olivier Miniconi - one of the visiting club's most senior figures - appeared in an attempt to defend his players.

The club's second in command, incensed at what he had seen, inexplicably kicked Wylan Cyprien of Lens to further fuel the on-field scrap, before Miniconi was led away by Gazélec Ajaccio players.

You can watch a video the incident above. Hats of to 101greatgoals for discovering this.
