It's one of the fundamental aspects of goalkeeping - catching the ball.
But it seems for one Egyptian shot-stopper it's easy to forget. Amir Tawfil of Egyptian Premier League side Wadi Degla had everything under control as a harmless through-ball by Haras El-Hodood captain Mohamed Halim popped over the Wadi Degla defence.
All he had to do was gather up the errant pass, and his side would be on the attack.
But, for some inexplicable reason, Tawfik took his eye of the ball, running straight past it to concede an absolute howler of a goal.
To be fair to him, he looks absolutely devastated. And it proved to be a costly mistake - as Haras El-Hodood went on to win the match 2-1, Tawfik's horror show directly leading to a tough defeat for Wadi Degla.
Anyway, take a look at the clip above, it's not one Tawfik will want to see again…
And thanks to the Guardian for picking this one up first.
