Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for highly rated Portugal striker Eder.

The Sunday People claims manager Andre Villas-Boas is plotting a summer bid for the 22-year-old forward – if he misses out on Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao once again.

Spurs were heavily linked with the Internacional star throughout January, and had a £17million bid rejected for the player.

And, if they fail again at the end of the season, then Eder is the back-up plan at White Hart Lane, according to the report.

A four-cap international, the former Academica starlet has been in sparkling form for Braga this season after moving to the Estadio AXA at the start of the campaign.

With ten goals in ten games, Eder has certainly impressed in the Primera Liga, with Tottenham Hotspur scouts watching the player earlier in the season.

The paper goes on to claim that Eder’s representatives are aware of the interest, and that Spurs have made ‘tentative contact’ over the player’s availability.

A £26million minimum fee release clause would certainly be a stumbling block in any possible deal, but the report claims that a bid in the region of £8million might be enough to bring the player to White Hart Lane because of financial problems at the Portuguese club.
