Arsenal star dismisses PSG transfer rumours

Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna is eager to distance himself from speculation suggesting he is being tracked by Paris Saint-Germain.

Sky Sports reports how the French international has been heavily linked with a return to his homeland, as talks over a new contract in north London seem to have reached an impasse.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been criticised in the past for failing to tie a number of first-team stars to new deals, with Sagna the latest high-profile player tipped to leave the Emirates Stadium.

Speculation had suggested that the defender could return to Ligue 1 during the Janaury transfer window, but Sagna has claimed there was no substance to reports, insisting that it remains his intention to see out his contract with Arsenal.

"The January transfer rumours regarding PSG? I am 100 per cent devoted to my club," he told L'Equipe

"I am only thinking about defending the colours of Arsenal until the end of my contract."

Sagna has hinted in the past that he may be open to offers, and his recent dip in form has left his position in the Arsenal side under scrutiny from fans. But, the 29-year-old says he has not spoken to any potential suitors about a transfer.

"The fans are angry with me because they heard about PSG's interest," he added. "But I am not responsible for that. I have never had any contact."
