Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is a reported target for Italian club Fiorentina, and could be offered an escape from Stamford Bridge when the transfer window opens again at the end of the season.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Fiorentina will make a proposal to Chelsea in the summer in the hope of securing the signature of the much-maligned former Liverpool striker.
Torres arrived at Chelsea from Anfield in the January transfer window of 2011 for a British transfer record fee of £50 million, but the Spain international has scored only 27 goals in 107 appearances since his move.
Three Chelsea managers have tried and failed to return Torres to his Liverpool pomp with the latest, his former boss on Merseyside Rafa Benitez, attracting the ire of Blues fans for persisting with the 28-year-old ahead of new arrival Demba Ba.
Ba has already scored three goals in his short Chelsea career, and would come as no great surprise decided to finally cut his losses on Torres in the summer.
Fiorentina would appear to be a potential destination for Torres, while he has previously been linked with a transfer to former club Atletico Madrid as part of a swap deal involving Radamel Falcao.
