Pep Guardiola could come up against former club Barcelona in his first game in charge of Bayern Munich after a summer friendly between the two clubs was announced today.

Guardiola stepped down as Barcelona boss last summer as the most successful manager in the club's history, having lifted three La Liga and two Champions League trophies during his four years in charge.

After much speculation the former Spanish international opted to join Bayern Munich last month, and could now face his former club in a friendly arranged to celebrate president Uli Hoeness's 60th birthday at the Allianz Arena.

The game was initally due to be held in Qatar, but will now take place at Bayern's home ground in 'the summer of 2013". All proceeds generated by the fixture will go to charity.

In the game, Guardiola will go head to head with Tito Vilanova, his former assistant and the man who replaced him as Barcelona boss, for the first time.

Guardiola will take charge of the Bundesliga club at the start of July after current boss Jupp Heynckes retires from football when his contract expires on June 31.

The 42-year-old is likely to be taking charge of the Bundesliga champions when he arrives at the Bavarian club.

Bayern currently sit 12 points clear of reigning champions Borussia Dortmund, while they go up against Arsenal in the last 16 of the Champions League later this month.
