Video: Neymar misses sitter as Brazil lose to England

Published 2 Comments

Brazilian superstar Neymar is the talk of world football, but he failed to paint is name in glory at Wembley last night in a 2-1 defeat to England.

The Santos starlet had a golden opportunity to make his mark with a chance from two-yards, but inexplicably shot over whilst sliding in on goal.

Chelsea midfielder Oscar created the chance, beating domestic team-mate Ashley Cole in a tussle for the ball and striding down his right flank.

The low cross was perfect, splitting the Three Lions back line and Joe Hart, with Neymar perfectly placed to strike home an equaliser after Wayne Rooney had opened the scoring.

However, the 21-year-old failed to deliver in a moment that Luiz Felipe Scolari’s side would live to regret.

Fred equalised for Brazil after his introduction at half-time, and would also hit the bar with a viscous effort later in the period. However, it was veteran Frank Lampard who won the day for the hosts.

Watch the video of the miss at the top of this story, and let us know if you think Neymar will recover…
