It is safe to say Barcelona star Lionel Messi has a few fans around the world and one of them certainly showed his love in Argentina’s recent friendly with Sweden.

Messi played an integral role in his side’s 3-2 win over the Swedes but the stand out moment of the match was the actions of one pitch-invader.

With his 91 goals in 2012 and already being on 50 for this season, it is understandable Barcelona fans are fond of him but this Swedish member of the Blaugrana fan base may have gone a little too far.

Messi was executing his usual brilliance when the fully grown man, with a beard too, stormed onto the pitch and proceeded to kiss the little Camp Nou superstar before giving him an affectionate ruffle of the hair.

To his credit Messi dealt with the kiss rather well, though he did give his face a bit of a wipe with his shirt after the incident – perhaps it was a bit of wet kiss.

Deed done and dream fulfilled, the euphoric Barça fan allowed himself to be taken away by scurrying match stewards.

He is likely to acquire some sort of criminal record for this act of love but, if his reaction immediately prior to landing the smacker on Messi’s head is anything to go by, GMF doubts if this, or indeed anything, will bother him for some time.

Watch the bizarre incident above.
