Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez scored twice as world champions Spain secured a comfortable 3-1 victory over Uruguay in their international friendly in Doha on Wednesday.
Cesc Fabregas gave Spain the lead but Uruguay hit back through Cristian Rodriguez on the half-hour mark, before Pedro's brace gave Vicente Del Bosque's men a deserved win.
Club teammate and captain, Carles Puyol, won his 100th cap for the Spaniards, while there were debuts for Chelsea's Cesar Azpilicueta, Malaga starlet Isco and Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez.
Elsewhere, three early goals for Argentina saw Lionel Messi's side record victory in Stockholm as they beat Sweden 3-2.
An own goal from Mikael Lustig put Argentina ahead after just three minutes, before Jonas Olsson equalised, but two quick-fire goals from Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain were enough to secure victory as early as the 23rd minute. Rasmus Elm scored a conciliation in injury time with a free-kick, but it wasn't enough to deny the visitors victory.
The two notable all-European clashes were tight affairs, as Germany came from behind to win in France, while a late Italian equaliser earned a draw in Holland.
Strikes from Thomas Müller and Sami Khedira gave the German's their first victory over France since 1987, after Mathieu Valbuena had given the home side the lead.

A successful night for the home-nations saw an impressive England display at Wembley as the Three Lions defeated Brazil 2-1 thanks to goals from Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard, after a penalty save from Joe Hart had denied Ronaldinho. Fred scored for the samba stars.
Meanwhile there were victories for Scotland, as Gordon Strachan's side won 1-0 over Estonia on his first game in charge for the national side, and Wales, who overcame Austria 2-1 with Gareth Bale yet again on the scoresheet.
A goalless draw in Malta was all Northern Ireland could manage, however the Republic of Ireland produced a good display against Poland, winning by two goals to nil.
Finally, in a surprise result, Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal suffered a disappointing home defeat to Ecuador, losing 3-2 in Guimaraes.
