Marouane Fellaini faces a race against time to be fit for Everton’s clash against Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Belgian midfielder returned home during the international break, but sat out his side’s 2-1 victory over Slovakia with a hip injury.

Not part of competitive training, Fellaini instead spent time in the gym, with ‘Move to Cure’ posting a picture of the player working out during his rehabilitation.

“@fellainiM was working hard to become fit again! @Everton and their fans'll enjoy Marouane's play soon again! #rehab,” they Tweeted.

Fellaini has since posted the same picture on his official Facebook page, saying: "Working hard to become fit again."

The former Standard Liege star has spent time at the ‘Move to Cure’ facility in the past, most notably after suffering ankle ligament damage following a tackle from Liverpool defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos during the Merseyside derby in February 2010.

And, in the recently tweeted picture, the big-haired midfielder appears to be working hard with some weights in an effort to be fit for the trip to Old Trafford.

David Moyes will certainly want Fellaini at his disposal for the clash against the Red Devils, after his two-goal salvo last weekend rescued a point against Aston Villa. He has 10-goals to his name so far in the English top flight.
