Manchester City are ready to launch a raid to snatch Neymar from under Barcelona's nose by offering his club Santos a 'blank cheque' to secure his services.
According to Spnish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, a meeting between Manchester City director of footballTxiki Begiristain, super-agent Pini Zahavi, Juan Laporta, former Barcelona president Juan Laporta and Neymar de Silva, father of the Brazilian starlet took place in London yesterday.
The paper reports that the meeting was arranged to discuss the future of Neymar, with Manchester City confirming their interest in the 20-year-old.
Barcelona appear to be in the driving seat for Neymar after making a €10 million down-payment on the talented youngster with a further €30 million to follow if the deal goes through.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Manchester City hope to circumnavigate that by offering a 'blank cheque' for Neymar.
What remains unclear however is Laporta's role in negotiations. The former Barcelona president helped usher in a new era of success under former coach Pep Guardiola at the Nou Camp.
Neymar was in London last night, playing in Brazil's 2-1 defeat against England at Wembley.
