Aston Villa star Christian Benteke has put Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal on alert after resolving to leave the relegation-threatened club at the end of the season, according to the Daily Star.
The 22-year-old striker has been a rare ray of light for the Birmingham-based side this season, bagging 14 goals in 27 appearances since joining from Genk in a £7m summer move last year.
But the Belgium international could be set for a brief stay at Villa Park. The report claims he's told close friends that he's decided to leave the club at the end of the season - even if he helps them to beat the drop.
Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been credited with an interest in the target man, who could be expected to treble his pay packet with a move to a top-four club. The chance to win silverware and play Champions League football could also have a big bearing on his decision at the end of the current campaign.
Starsport suggests Arsenal head the chase for Benteke, with Arsene Wenger keen to recruit the talented young forward - although it's not clear whether that would be as a foil for Olivier Giroud, or as an alternative.
But Chelsea are also monitoring developments - Benteke is thought to be keen on a move to London - and the European champions' financial muscle could give them the edge over Wenger's side when it comes to striking a deal.
The former-Genk star has settled into Premier League life quickly, and is thought to prefer to stay in England, but he could have offers from the continent as well, with Atletico Madrid thought to be interested.
The La Liga club may be in the market for a new striker come the end of the season, as their first-choice front pairing, Adrian Lopez and Radamel Falcao, have both been linked with moves away from the Vicente Calderon.
