Arsenal scouts will watch Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina in the final months of the Premier League season, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror claims Arsene Wenger is looking at a number of players in a bid to complete his list of summer transfer targets, and the Spanish stopper is one of those on the club’s radar.
Marseille defender Nicolas N'koulou and Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue are also named as Arsenal targets, with the exits of Andrei Arshavin and Sebastien Squillaci set to create valuable space on the wage-bill.
Reina has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield in recent months, with the 30-year-old spending seven-and-a-half seasons with Liverpool to-date.
Brendan Rodgers isn’t flush with options in the position however, with an FA Cup horror show from Brad Jones suggesting there’s limited support in the absence of the stopper.
And, if Liverpool were to lose the 26-cap international, they may well have to raid the transfer market to replace the player on Merseyside.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have Wojciech Szczesny between the sticks, but with the Pole committing a number of high-profile errors at the Emirates Stadium, it’s no surprise to see the north London outfit linked with another keeper.
