Chelsea have not given up hope of signing Brazilian playmaker Willian, despite the fact he has just completed a move to big-spending Anzhi Makhachkala.
According to The Mirror, Stamford Bridge owner Roman Abramovich is desperate land the 24-year-old and will make a £35million bid for him in the summer.
Willian looked destined to make a move to the Premier League with either Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur, both were linked, but no deal could be agreed with his former club Shakhtar Donetsk.
It was then that Russian Premier League club Anzhi ramped up their interest in the talented midfielder and, according to the report, secured his signature for around £30million.
For a player to make another transfer so soon is unusual but the report claims Abramovich is not perturbed by this and is determined to sign the Brazilian.
Were Willian to make the move to Chelsea, he would join compatriots Oscar, Ramires and David Luiz in the Blues’ first team squad.
