Inter consider stadium move
Italian giants Inter Milan to consider moving away from the San Siro, a ground they share with rivals AC Milan
Inter Milan are planning a sensational move away from the San Siro, a stadium they share with local rivals AC Milan.
Talks of a stadium move are quickly gathering pace and club president Massimo Moratti is believed to favour a plot of land in the San Donato district as a potential site which would house a 60,000 seater stadium, shops and restaurants.
Matteo Sargenti, the councillor for sports in San Donato has however reiterated that the plans are at the draft stage at present.
"The Inter project will be not just be a stadium, but a project that provides services for our city," he told Tuttosport. "We are waiting for Inter's final decision; at the moment it's just a draft plan.
"Moreover, before we decide about it, we'll ask the local citizens for their opinion."
Rumours suggesting that the Italian giants are plotting a stadium switch have refused to go away in recent years, and this latest report has done little to quell speculation.
Inter do not expect to move in to their new home before the 2018/19 season and the cost of the build is still unknown.
