Xabi Alonso is likely to feature for Real Madrid in their Champions League clash against Manchester United on Wednesday after the Spanish international was included in Jose Mourinho's 22-man squad for the game at the Bernabeu.
The former Liverpool midfielder looked to be facing a race against time to be fit for the last 16 first-leg tie after picking up a groin injury which caused him to miss Madrid's 4-1 win over Sevilla on Sunday, as well as Spain's friendly win over Uruguay in mid-week.

Raphael Varane is included despite concerns over his fitness, while Kaka and Luka Modric are also on the 22-man list. Regular goalkeeper Iker Casillas misses out all together through injury.
Fabio CoentraoSpanish newspaper Marca claimed yesterday to know Jose Mourinho's starting XI for the game against Manchester United, and say that Pepe is likely to be preferred to Varane at the back, while Fabio Coentrao will get the nod to start at left-back.
For Manchester United, Jonny Evans, and Ashley Young all took part in Manchester United's final training session before Wednesday's game, while Phil Jones should be ok to start despite picking up a knock against Everton. However Paul Scholes hasn't travelled to Spain with his team-mates.
