Jose Mourinho planning Premier League return

.

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho says he will return to England for a job in the Premier League when he leaves his position, which is seemingly under threat, at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mourinho's future with Real Madrid has been the subject of intense speculation in recent weeks, with the Spanish champions 16 points behind Barcelona in defence of their La Liga title.

Manchester United has been touted as a potential future destination for the 50-year-old and, as Real Madrid prepare to face the Premier League leaders in the last 16 of the Champions League, Mourinho admits England beckons after his spell in Spain.

"After Real. I love everything [about the Premier League]," Mourinho told a press conference ahead of Wednesday's meeting with Manchester United in Madrid.

"Normally it will be my next step."

But, with reports claiming Mourinho will become available at the end of the season, joining Manchester United would appear to be unlikely given Sir Alex Ferguson's reluctance to abdicate from his Old Trafford throne just yet.

A return to Chelsea has emerged as the most expected outcome for Mourinho, with some bookmakers offering odds as short as 2/1 for the Portuguese to come back to Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho left Chelsea shortly into 2007/08 season following a bust-up with Roman Abramovich, but has since patched up his difference with the club's billionaire owner.
